The Most Common Hypnotic Trance Signals

Acute signal recognition is the first step in recognizing when someone is ready for a trance like state. But how would you know when the person you are talking to is actually in a trance like state and ready for your commands or suggestions?

There are some common aspects that you need to be aware of in order to tell when someone is in a trance and ready for you to do your magic. Although everyone is different, and they will have different queues as to when they are in a trance, there are a few that are more common than others so you can keep an eye open for them.

The first trance signal will be in the person’s breathing. When someone goes into a trance, their breathing will naturally slow down. This is very common when people start to go to sleep, and a trance is pretty much the same thing. There are ways to tell when a person’s breathing is starting to slow down without actually touching them, which could make them very uncomfortable if you did touch them at this point in time. One way is to watch a person’s shoulders as they breathe. When their breath slows down, their shoulders will rise and fall slower as well.

A person’s eyes can also tell you a myriad of details. When a person goes into a trance like state, their eyes will become a bit glossy and sleepy looking. They will also start to focus on one spot that is straight ahead of them. This means that they are completely focusing on what you are saying and nothing else that is going on around them. You will start to notice that a person’s facial muscles will start to relax as well.

Facial features and body language are all very important aspects when looking for signals that someone is in a trance. You might start to notice involuntary muscle twitches as well. This is a very common aspect of someone that is in a trance like state and can be extremely noticeable.

However, those muscle twitches may not be as noticeable on some people and you will need to use your peripheral vision to see them. The main point is that you should recognize the signals that are there in order to realize that the person you are talking to is going into a trance. If you notice them quickly, you will find it much easier to hypnotize someone while talking to them.

    Antonia,
I am very interested in hypnosis. I went to the state fair and watched a show with a hypnotist. He called up a bunch of people to be hypnotized and I volunteered to be one of them. There were about 1/3 of us who weren’t I was able to so we sat down. They did the most embarrassing things and I was grateful I wasn’t one of them! One of my friends was and he said he couldn’t explain it, he realized what he was doing but he just didn’t stop even though he knew it was embarrassing. I honestly can’t remember exactly what he did but it was funny! I don’t understand.
